Ebonized Walnut Stand. Brass hour circle surmount, within calibrated metal meridian. Horizon band with ebonized edge, and a decorated frieze. Capable of 360 degree rotation on meridian holder, on a medial cross-stretcher. The walnut stand with shaped, tapered legs, joined by a wood roundel, the ebonized feed with cross-hatched decoration. The globe itself is a snapshot of world nationalities in between the two World Wars, with Belgian Congo and French Equatorial Africa adjacent to Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, Kenya and Tanganyika; and Italian East Africa.
