The crests carved with a foliate design over a pair of pendant roses and scrolls, with a band of gadrooned carving on the crest-rails with pierced grapevine carving to the sides of the back; the shaped seat over carved cabriole legs. New York. Circa 1860. 39" H. x 20" W. x 21" D. One chair absent the gadrooned carving to one side. The laminate with seam visible on the opposing chair, upper section near crest. Both chair backs have light cracks to laminate consistent with age.
