Inspired by the art and philosophy of Chinese and Japanese cultures, Eskenazi has been creating photographic works since the early 1990s. He often entwines his subjects with the themes of time and perspective, and his recent works refer to the connection between one’s self and the spirit of nature. Through skillful manipulation of perspective, scale and lighting, Eskenazi transposes an emotion or idea onto the subject, and engages the viewer with an element of surprise and discovery.
