A fine inlaid-iron table cabinetMeiji era (1868-1912), circa 1890The cabinet modeled as a temple building decorated in typical Komai style in gold nunome-zogan with details carved in kebori, the building set on a rectangular base and fitted with six drawers with chrysanthemum drawer pulls and decorated with a pavilion in a landscape with clouds and blossoming irises, the removable cover constructed with sloping eaves supporting a gabled roof decorated with dragons chasing flaming jewels and cranes surrounding a central Tokugawa family crest, the edges lined with wave patterns or chrysanthemum florets, the interior compartment chased with floral roundels; set on a fitted wood stand 5 x 6 1/8 x 4 1/4in (12.7 x 15.5 x 10.8cm), 6 5/8in (16.8cm) high overall
