A MINIATURE CHINESE WHITE JADE CARVING OF A FOREIGNER
SONG/YUAN DYNASTY
The northern nomad (huren) depicted seated with his left leg raised, he is dressed in thick robes and wears a conical hat, the pale stone of an even tone, 3cm.
Cf. Compendium of Collections in the Palace Museum, Jade, vol.5, p.210, no.248 for a similarly carved white jade figure of the same size depicting a child seated on a goose.
