orcelain Box (Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi Mark) This box is exquisitely crafted, full-glazed, with a strong contrast of yellow and green glaze. Both the cover and body of the whole piece are engraved with dragons and phoenixes facing each other, surrounded by tangled lotus pattern. Dragon and phoenix patterns are a symbol of imperial power, and they were also playing a pivotal role among decorative patterns in porcelain. Dragon is the king of beasts, phoenix is the king of birds. Being spiritual, and elegant, the cooperation of the two has the meaning of "prosperousness". The blue and white 'Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi' mark is on the side.
