Original box, the inscription on the lid reading Honaga (ferns) maki-e hirobuta and sealed Heian and Minoya sei.The Minoya lacquer workshop was founded in 1772 in Kyoto and thrived especially in the Meiji and Taish? periods and 1943 produced lacquerware in occasion of the wedding of Princess Terunomiya (Shigeko) to Prince Higashikuni.
