This is a 1950's multi-colored jadeite jade and cultured pearl ring by Mings. It features an open frame floral inspired graduating design centrally studded with 7 jade beads that measure 5.80mm-8.15mm wide. It is framed with 11 cultured pearls that measure 5.50mm-7.50mm wide. The pearls exhibit a very fine rose overtone with very good luster. They are all set in a handcrafted 14k yellow gold mounting that weighs 10.00dwt. It is signed inside the shank "Mings 14k". As you can see in the photos, the ring is in overall very good condition.Mings of Honolulu Hawaii was a fine jewelry company that sold high quality jewelry (both gold and silver) often using pearls, jade, coral and ivory. The designs often used Hawaiian and Asian motifs. Mings also produced hand-carved figurines depicting exotic leaves (like banana leaves), flowers (hibiscus, anthurium, pikake, bird of paradise, and orchids) and other natural objects. Some older, unmarked Mings pieces have a distinctive leaf-shaped clasp. The artist Wook Moon began Mings in 1940 and the store soon expanded over the Hawaiian Islands and to San Francisco, New York, Miami, Houston, Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta. The last of the Mings stores in Honolulu closed in October 1999.
