This is a 1950's nephrite jade and cultured pearl ring by Mings. The ring features a circular floral inspired design that is centrally set with three large nephrite jade beads that measure 16.21mm wide. They exhibit a very fine light apple green body color with good transparency. They are framed with 10 graduating cultured pearls that measure 5.00mm wide. The pearls exhibit a very fine rose overtone with good luster. They are set in a handmade floral inspired 14K yellow gold mounting that weighs 10.50dwt. The ring is a size 8 3/4. The ring is signed inside the shank "Mings".Mings of Honolulu, Hawaii was a fine jewelry company that sold high quality jewelry in both gold and silver, often using pearls, jade, coral, and ivory. The designs often used Hawaiian and Asian motifs. Mings also produced hand-carved figurines depicting exotic leaves (like banana leaves), flowers (like hibiscus, anthurium, pikake, bird of paradise, and orchids) and other natural objects. Some older, unmarked Mings pieces have a distinctive leaf-shaped clasp. The artist Wook Moon began Mings in 1940 and the store soon expanded over the Hawaiian Islands, San Francisco, New York City, Miami, Houston, Ft. Lauderdale, and Atlanta. The last of the Mings stores in Honolulu closed in October 1999
