拍品描述: The lower cubic section surmounted by canopy in the form of a pyramid, of red, green and black silk profusely embroidered with silver and gilt-silver thread to each side. The lower section with large cartouches enclosing Quran 3 surah Al-Imraan v.95-v.97 on a red ground, below to each side a large Mihraab embellished with lamps and large cartouches enclosing Quran verse, praising of the prophet, the inscription of 'made during the reign of sultan Abdulhamid II in 1299AH'. surrounded by vines and floral sprays. The pyramid section to each side with a small cartouche enclosing surah Al-Ikhlas on a black ground, below a roundels contains Quran 2 surah Al-Baqarah v.125 flanked by circles of Allah and Muhammed. The border with a band of interlocking palmette motifs. 180 by 134 by 134.
