拍品描述
A collection of items relating to former prime minister: Winston S Churchill. Included is an original letter in reply to Mr. Sydney Giles of Brighton who has written to Winston S Churchill. wishing him a Happy birthday and sent some Cigars. The letter accepts his best wishes and then tells Mr Giles that his birthday is not until November 30 and that the cigars will be returned to him. This letter is on official Prime Minister headed paper and signed by the Prime Ministers secretary. There is also an original auto-pen letter and envelope thanking him for the Birthday gift and this too has the original envelope and card. We have included an original album page which has been signed by Winston S Churchill from 1954 as well ~ These are all original letters and envelopes and not copies and all form part of a collection unique to this person. A very scarce if not rare collection as these letters simply do not show up very often in their original format with reply’s and an original signature and it also has the original 2 1/2 p stamp unused which was sent for the postage reply and was also returned unused.
