拍品描述: Region: Southeast Asia. Ifugao tribal region, central lazon philliphines 3 dimensional wood carving. Carved from a living tree and kept attached by an “umbilical cord” until the proper moment in the fertility ceremony when it is “born” seated male figure angular carved body with face and neck carved in a rounded more naturalistic style. Excellent example of this style. Very rare 100+ years old. H:17 1/2in(44.5cm) W:5in(12.7cm)
