Pair of very fine large Chinese famille rose turquoise green porcelain plant pots. Of a globular shape body , waisted to the flat foot base, having a flat wide opening. Decorated with hand painting in Famille rose design of magpie against scrolling grapevines and peonies blooms. Bordered with repeated ruyi pattern on the rim and geometrical shou character on foot. All reserved over a scrolling tendrils motif against pale-turquoise green glazed ground. The base left unglazed with grayish-creme and dark firing spots.
Mark on the shoulder, A red hall mark reading Da Ya Zhai "The Studio of the Greater Odes", enclosed within a small oval panel framed by two dragons, with further reading a motto "Tian Di Yi Jia Chum", "The Whole World celebrating as One Family". Empress Dowager BiXi of Qing Dynasty period mark.
