拍品描述: Description A THANGKA OF TSONGKHAPA, TIBET 19TH CENTURY Neatly painted in fine detail with gouache and gold on linen, the back with six lines of Buddhist inscriptions and a signature. Tsongkhapa, flanked by lotus flowers supporting the sword and the book of wisdom, is surrounded by religious figures and deities such as the Green Tara, the blue-skinned Medicine Buddha or the wrathful Vajrapani. Provenance: From a Hungarian private collector. Condition: Minor losses and stains, overall good and original condition. Dimensions: 27 x 21 cm Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) is a revered Tibetan religious philosopher, and a central figure of the Gelugpa sect that ruled Tibet until the middle of the 20th century.
