Description
A CARVED JADE PENDANT OF A LOTUS BOY, MING DYNASTY
China, 1368-1644. The jade is of light grey color mottled with black inclusions. The carving depicts a recumbent boy holding a large lotus leaf by the stem, which serves him as a pillow. Note one minuscule piercing for suspension.
Provenance: Property from an English private collection.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and smooth, unctuous patina. The stone with minuscule natural flaws and nicks.
