拍品描述: Maestri, Michelangelo - Attributed toThree Sheets with dancing Maenads(About 1779/1802 mentioned in Rome) One dancer each with instrument or other attributebefore black background, in the lower part transverse rectangular fields with grotesquerepresentations. Three gouaches based on frescoes from the triclinium of the Villa desCicero, today kept in the Archaeological Museum in Naples. Approx. 42 x 32 cm; framedunder glass. - One with discoloration of the face due to pigment changes. - Lit.Thieme/Becker 23. - Michelangelo Maestri was active in Rome at the beginning of the 19thcentury and frequently copied motifs from the colourful murals of antique rooms in Pompeiiand Herculaneum, but also pictures after designs by Raphael and his students such asGiulio Romano.
