Description Very Large, Impressive 18th C. Cusco / Cuzco School Archangel Michael Vanquishing Satan, Oil on Canvas Painting. The archangel Michael depicted holding his staff and scale, one foot upon the vanquished Satan. Beautifully painted features. Most likely hung in a church. Antique wood carved peintre dore gilt frame, Painting was removed from original stretcher and reassembled at some point. Frame was also reassembled, presumably from shipping. Canvas is loose on frame. Canvas measures 36.5 x 53 inches, frame measures 42 x 58 inches. Came from a private estate in Montreal, Canada.
