拍品描述: Description RARE A.B. Routhier LE CENTURION Casterman, Paris-Tournai, 1909. Adolphe Basil Routhier (Quebec 1839-1920) was a noted Quebec lawyer, prominent judge, chief justice, lieutenant-governor, composer and author. As a poet, he wrote the the lyrics to O Canada (Canadian national anthem). As a writer of essays, fiction, and poetry, his novels Le Centurion and Pauline were bestsellers of their time. Offered is a RARE EDITION of Le Centurion Roman Des Temps Messianiques published by Editions Casterman, Paris-Tournai (1909) with original colour supple cover. In overall good preowned vintage condition, with slight abrasions and wear to corners. Complete Black & White illustrations in inset. Gilded pages in good condition. 243 pages. No pages missing. Providence: Private Collection of Ernest Cote, (1913a??2015) WW2 veteran and diplomat, awarded French Legion of Honour in the rank of Chevalier for his role in planning DDay landings for the Liberation of France and assistance in creating the World Health Organization charter.
