Dahmen, Karl Fred (Stollberg / Rh.1917-1981 Preinersdorf / Chiemsee) - Farbzreichnung 1980, mixed technique on paper, signed up and dated within the picture, c.87x72cm, verso signed in red felt pen, dated, inscribed and with an arrow as a directional indicator saying ''above'', framed under glass,check for similar works: Weber, Thomas: KF Dahmen - Catalogue Raisonné Volume I, 1946-1965, Cologne 2003 -Karl Fred Dahmen (Stolberg 1917-1981 Preinersdorf),painter and object artist was one of the most important exponents of Art Informel, in 1957 Dahmen joined the ''Deutscher Künstlerbund'', where he belonged to the German Tachists, co-founder of the international group ''Nouvelle Ecole Européenne'' (N.E.E.) in Lausanne, Switzerland, from the mid-1960s he created many material pictures and object cases, with which Dahmen aspired to the same goals as the ''Nouveaux Réalistes'', in 1967 he was awarded a professorship at the Munich art academy, which was the reason for his move to the Chiemgau region, where he spent the last years of his life.
