A 20th century metal cased singing bird box musical automata, the engraved top decorated with birds and floral scrolls, the oval hinged panel lifting to reveal a pierced gilt metal grill and animated singing bird, the base of the box with conforming engraved decoration, 4.25 x 1.75 (10.75cm x 4.5cm). Plating to box is worn with rubbing and losses in areas, box has impressed marks to end these are faint and rubbed, some wear to keyhole, some scratched owners marks, with novelty bird shaped key. Box lid tests as: AG 0.126, ZN 35.39, CU 64.28Box tests as: FE 0.080, ZN 34.51, CU 65.41Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals.
