An early George V silver mounted jewellery box, of oval form and raised on four foliate feet, the hinged lid with raised border enclosing engine-turned decoration and central vacant roundel, with material lining. Hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd., London 1913. Maximum length 5.25 (13.5cm). Displaying general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.Several small surface dints and bumps, especially to the lid.Surface rubbing and wear to the decoration with some loss of detail. Likely repairs around hinge although it is in working order. Lid rises very slightly when in a closed position. Further repairs around the joins of a couple of the feetMaterial to interior fairly tired and worn with some tears, dirt and discolouration. Base lining also torn and in need of attention. Hallmarks located to base rim, slightly rubbed. Also with impressed maker's name and address, partly cut off.
