A modern part silver mounted desk ornament, modelled as a Mercedes Benz with realistic detailing, mounted on a stained wood base. Hallmarked to oval plaque located on underside, Birmingham 1995. Length of car 7 (18cm). The car displays heavy tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some general surface wear, marks, scratches. Damage to windscreen wipers with part missing. One wheel broken off and requires attention (wheel is still present). Under tray of vehicle and wheel axles are black painted metal with rubber tyres. Car is not securely fixed to wood base. Parts of exterior have been tested and results vary between 94-97% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
