A small selection of silver items to include a table cigarette box, of rectangular hinged form, with engraved initials to lid, hallmarked London 1917, makers mark worn and indistinct, together with an Edwardian hand-held mirror, with embossed foliate decoration to the whole, hallmarked W J Myatt & Co, Birmingham 1906, plus a cut glass pot with embossed silver cover depicting a stag within a foliate scroll surround, hallmarked White & Hawkins, Chester 1901, a floral decorated bud vase, hallmarked William Devenport, Birmingham 1903, and an Eastern pedestal dish, (a/f). (5). With scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.Cigarette box with a number of knocks throughout, particularly to edges and corners, and one corner to cover with split. Interior lining worn.Hand held mirror with a number of knocks throughout, wear to the embossed decoration, and a number of splits. Glass pot with scratches and a few small losses. Silver cover with indentations and knocks and a number of splits to the foliate detail. Bid vase with knocks throughout, particularly to rim and foot, and unsteady as a result.Pedestal dish with small knocks and indentations, visible solder repair around stem, and cup detached from base. Tests around 79% - 87% silver.Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver, gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
