A pair of late Victorian silver mounted opaque glass salts, each bulbous glass body with crimped rim and gilt painted decoration depicting a butterfly and flowering blossom branches, and raised on a silver circular foot with three ball feet, hallmarked John Round & Son Ltd., Sheffield 1886. Together with a globular shape enamel mustard pot, with matching spoon marked 925, and a further bulbous pot modelled as a pumpkin, with possible character mark to base. (4). Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.The pair of salts appear in good overall condition, displaying some expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some tarnishing to silver mounts. Some surface wear and rubbing to the gilt decoration with some flaking and losses to gilding. Hallmarks located to base, in good order.Enamel pot and spoon with small losses to enamel. Glue visible around feet. Hinged lid with movement. Bowl of spoon with heavy tarnish.Pumpkin with heavy surface wear with loss of detail and definition and losses to applied leaf decoration. Tests as 94% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible
