A Victorian silver composite part canteen, in King's pattern and comprising twelve each of table spoons, table forks, dessert spoons, dessert forks, and teaspoons. Hallmarked London, dates ranging from 1826 to 1886, various maker's marks, predominantly Chawner & Co, some examples also marked Mary Chawner, Robert Wallis, John, Henry & Charles Lias, John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, and Joseph & Albert Savory. Approximate gross weight 147.5 ozt (4588 grams). With scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.Some nicks and pitting throughout.Some prongs to forks slightly knocked. Bowls to spoons worn to edge. Some spoon bowls with indentations, and slightly misshapen.Some hallmarks worn and indistinct, most legible. Group lot, sold as seen.
