A George III silver marrow spoon, with long narrow scoop to handle, hallmarked George Smith (II), London 1774, length 9.25 (23.5cm). Together with a later meat skewer, also George III, of plain tapering form with ring handle and monogram engraved, hallmarked London 1806, maker's mark overstamped, length 11 (28cm). Weight 4.43 ozt (137.8 grams). (2). Both displaying some heavy tarnishing and in a fairly worn and tired condition with expected surface marks, scratches and nicks.Marrow spoon bowl with some heavier wear around the edge and tip and metal appears slightly thinner in this area. Drop to heel flattened with loss of definition. Hallmarks bottom struck, surface rubbing but in good order given the age. Meat skewer with numerous deeper scratches and nicks to the whole. Ring handle slightly misshapen. Pointed end fairly rounded and blunt. Hallmarks rubbed but legible. Maker's mark overstamped and now difficult to read clearly.
