G.A.T.P.A.C STYLE SUITE OF BENCH AND TWO ARMCHAIRS, 1930s.
Stained wood structure with rattan backs and seats. Later alterations. The G.A.T.P.A.C. armchair was manufactured by the Grupo de Arquitectos y Técnicos Catalanes collective for the Progreso de la Arquitectura Contemporánea in 1934, inspired by traditional Ibizan styles. It was conceived to furnish the Republic of Spain Pavilion at The Paris International Exhibition of 1937. The armchair forms part of the permanent collection at the Barcelona Design Museum, inventory number MADB 138936.
