A LARGE SIGNED RUSSIAN ICON OF OUR LADY HODEGETRIA OF JERUSALEM, 19TH CENTURY set against a rich gold ground, the Holy Mother of God depicted gently holding the Christ Child and leaning her face towards him, with the Guardian angel standing on the left and St. Tatiana standing on the right, the border decorated with etched geometric ornaments, the lower right corner holds a signature of the icon painter. Egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on wood panel. Two insert splints on the back. 45 x 39 cm (17 3/4x 15 3/8 in.)
