A LARGE RUSSIAN ICON OF THE TIKHVINSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD, 19TH CENTURY the Holy Virgin depicted on a saturated gold leaf background, her red cloak is richly decorated with bright intricate details, contrasting with the drapes of her mantle lined in black, the haloes of Christ Child and Mary are only outlined with red and white, helping to wholly concentrate the viewer`s attention on the faces.
