A Framed Sheet being a reproduction of one of the sheets of 1d Blacks held in post office headquarters archives printed by Perkins Bacon & Petch, The Queen's head design was taken from the medal engraved by William Wyan R.A., which commemorated her Majesty's official visit to the city of London 9th November, 1837. Further provenance to verso of frame, "This photostat was specially produced for the post office film unit for the picture "Story of a Letter 1950". Film shot shows P.O. clerk cutting the stamps to give member of public, 1840.
