Description: H. 65 cm. Lighter hard wood, dull thin brown patina. Heavy, typically cubistic figure, compact corpus on a higher rectangular base, large head hanging to the front from a bow-shaped neck with long, square chin, heart-shaped mouth. The figure holds hands on the strongly arched belly, wooden horn and feathers inserted in the skull, both arms carrying loads in cloth bags, among others feathers, other similar loads around the waist and above the belly, round chamber closed with peg in the back of the head, raffia apron. Sheet copper fittings and nails on the face and torso, the nails arranged in lines resembling a scarification. Narrow insignificant old crack running from the bonnet of the back of the head to the shoulder, feathers partly lost. Formerly Heinrich G?rtz Collection. (200)
