拍品描述: Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Buddhist Sanskrit Jar decorated with Sanskrit (or similar) characters presumably relating to Buddhist prayers. Such jars are rare and have not been widely researched – sometimes they are referred to as “offering vessels”. To the inside base of this jar are the remains of an iron disk. There is red pigment to the underneath of the cover. Height 25.5cm.
