A WHITE JADE 'CATFISH' SNUFF BOTTLE
18th CenturyNaturalistically carved in the form of a bottom-feeding fish, with flattened head and body, the fins all held flat against its body, the mouth of the fish forming the mouth of the bottle and flanked by a pair of barbels and two filled drilled holes, the tail of the fish curled over its back, the translucent stone with icy white inclusions and russet veining. 2 3/4in (6.8cm) long
