拍品描述: Stunning 19th century large bronze ewer from France. Probably mounted on the circular black thick base many years prior which not only elongates but adds to the ambiance. Ornate bronze work overall with pineapple finial mounted on the scrolled handle and a face with other raised relief on the outside of the pouring spout. Six arched panels surround the center of the urn depicting 2 with maidens in long dress,one holding an open parasol in the right hand. Two show an artist's palette and brushes among other raised relief work. The other two show antique musical instruments such as a lute and mandolin with horn instruments. Either side of the urn almost as handles are two rams heads. Other wonderfully designed banding on the collar,neck and base. Very minor wear to the painted base and bronze from age,overall in excellent condition. Measures 27 H X 8.5 L X 7.5 D. Item ID: SL35768
