The chimera Vyala resembles a lion and seems here to spew out gifts which are eagerly received from the small elephant beneath. The Vyala is considered as royal emblem but also to ward off evil. It is found at temple pillars. His attitude shows a certain aggressiveness and willingness to defend. Height 66cm, width 23.5cm, depth 6.5cm. Mounted on a pedestal. Condition A/B. Insect damage and minor damage.
