拍品描述: 罕见石雕菩提达摩禅坐像清可能为乾隆 18世纪高12.5cm/宽9.8cm/深7.8cm 墨绿色冻石，半至微透明，肌理隐有灰白色花纹。造像以精湛的工艺使用立体圆雕技法制作，菩提达摩披戴头巾，身着宽大禅衣，衣领开阔，袒胸束腰，前胸裸露嶙峋肋骨。头部呈圆瓜形，高额肥鼻，双目圆睁，口齿微露，面带微笑，发须眉毛呈螺旋状卷曲。下身全跏趺席地禅坐，双手置于腹前、藏于衣袍内，坐姿自然洒脱，稳定庄重。服饰衣褶翻折自如，精刻多组灵芝团花纹，边沿饰缠枝莲及卷草等，头巾施如意云头纹，局部描金。整体雕刻工艺精绝，尤其在达摩的面部表情及衣服褶皱等细节的处理，极具功力，实为上乘之作。达摩又称菩提达摩，南北朝时天竺或波斯僧人，曾海渡入华至广州授徒说法，后又一苇渡江北上嵩山少林寺，面壁静修九年，并坐化成佛，被尊为中国禅宗的始祖。品相等级B，坐像前边沿有磕，因年代及材质而产生细微裂纹。后配木座，高2.2cm，长11.5cm，宽7.8cm。来源：德国黑森州私人藏品，义和团运动（1900-1901年）期间在中国入藏。现以亚麻手帕包裹，藏于欧洲原产木盒中，手帕上绣有花押字体的人名缩写。 China. Qing dynasty. Problably Qianlong period (1735-96). 18th c. Stone similar to spinach jade with anthrazit grey inclusions. Carved and with fine engraving, partly rubbed with gold and ink. Sitting in meditation, the robe draped in elegant folds open at his chest. The features are depicted with subtle realism. The face with swelling eyes, engraved beard and head hair also shows a masterly hand. Height 12.5cm, width 9.8cm, depth 7.8cm. On a wooden base, h.2.2cm, 11.5x7.8cm. Condition A/B. Supplement: European wooden box, in which it was stored. The garment at the lower front seam damaged. Natural material cracks. Bodhidharma (Chinese: Damo, c. 440-528) is considered the first patriarch of Chan Buddhism. He is said to come from Persia or India and his non-Chinese origin becomes clear in his depiction. His spherical eyeballs are shown in this way because there is a legend that he cut off his eyelids out of anger at falling asleep during meditation. The first tea bushes are said to have grown from the discarded lids. Provenance: -Hessian private collection. Acquired locally during the Boxer Uprising (1900-1901). The figure was kept in an European wooden box, wrapped in a monogrammed linen napkin.
