拍品描述: Description: WOODEN PANEL WITH PETER I OF BRAZIL COAT OF ARMS 19th Century Carved rectangular wooden panel with a shield surmounted by a closed crown and surrounded by laurel leaves, mounted in a later period with four bronze side hooks. 27.6 x 18.1 x 3.9 in. Peter IV of Portugal, son of John VI of Portugal and Carlotta Gioacchina of Borbone-Spain was nominated by his father, regent of Brazil in 1821. Proclaimed Independence the following year, he assumed the title of Emperor of Brazil with the name of Peter I until 1831, when he abdicated in favor of his son Peter II.
