LOT NOTES Beklemishev was born and lived his entire life in Moscow. As a student at the Moscow School of Fine Art, Sculpture and Architecture, Sergey was taught by some of Russia`s greatest artists, including Vasiliy Polenov and Isaak Levitan. Later on he studied with Malevich in private school of Fedor Rerberg. Mostly known for religious subjects of his paintings, Beklemishev also created a number of lyrical landscapes, such as the present lot.
