the altar stands in the center of the composition, on the right side St. Simeon is holding the Christ Child with his hands covered with cloth, on the left side of the altar Theotokos is depicted in a blessing gesture, Joseph is standing beside her with a bird cage preparing for sacrifice, Anna the Prophetess stands behind them. Egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on wood panel. Two insert splints on the back. 35.5 x 31 cm (14 x 12 1/4 in.)
