This little, colorful, painted vessel has an oval opening on the top, on the opposite side are two ornamental orifices like stylized blossoms resp. like the stylized script character lu für prosperity. The vessel could have been used as a vase for dry flowers, perhaps also a cage for a grasshopper, as customary in China. Different blossoms are depicted on all four sides, including camelia, peony, orchid; further, one insect painted resp. on the main sides.
