Jade. China, style of the Western Zhou Dynasty, approx.. 1100 – 256 BC
Little, very good transparent jade with milky light green tone. Despite the nearly perfect preservation, this could be an authentic piece from the time indicated. The animal is a bird, as wings and powerfully curved beak demonstrate. Big round eyes and horn-like crest of feathers. Simplified, box-shaped legs in the archaic manner.
