An elegant Qing Dynasty Yongzheng imperial marked bowl decorated with views of mountains, river and sail boats, in underglaze cobalt blue. The clay and the glaze are exceptionally fine and unctuous like jade, and is without glassy surface reflection of later imitations. The blue is pure and appears to sink to the bottom of the glaze. The painting employs broad washes and fine lines, a method that evolved from earlier Kangxi period and led to later Qianlong style.
