拍品描述: 4 Pc. Attr: J & JW Meeks Pierced Carved Laminated Rosewood Parlor Set. Unusual pattern has a wavy crest with ruffled trim carving over a floral cluster, pierced carved swirling filigree within the framework and scrolled carving at the ends of the crest rails with short gadrooned sections; pieces have open arms, standing on cabriole legs with fancy knee and seat rail carvings. Set includes 2 Sofas: 48 in. high x 69 in. wide x 25 in. deep - Armchair: 42.25 in. high x 25.5 in. wide x 23 in. deep - Sidechair: 39 in. high x 19 in. wide x 19 in. deep. Condition: Pieces have breaks and repairs to the structure and carvings, finish has been touched up and enhanced within the carvings and repaired areas and could use some professional restoration; the side chair does not appear to be Meeks, thought the pattern matches the set, the lamination used is much thicker than that used by Meeks and the back does not show a smooth and clean design as seen in the other Meeks chairs.
