拍品描述: Large Inlaid Cylinder Music Box. The exceptional case has burled walnut veneer with satinwood, brass, mother of pearl and faux marble borders with ebonized trim on the lid, front and sides; has a single drawer in the base, with 3 cylinders. The reverse of the lid is ebonized with a pressed carved border, brass and nickel-silver inlays, glass paneled dust cover exposes the mechanism, spring driven with internal ratchet crank lever on the left side, start/stop & repeat/change switches on the right. 13 in. cylinders play 8 tunes each, matching serial numbers 35885. The mechanism is beautiful and clean with polished gilt brass and nickel silver surfaces, reeded gilt iron bed plate, engraved damper pad with Helvetia and E. Pluribus Unum medallions, lyre shaped escutcheon and gilt brass tune indicator dial numbered with Roman numerals 1 through 8. Case has an excellent French polished finish. 15 in. high x 37 in. wide x 18 in. deep.
