拍品描述: French Industrial Animated Automobile Clock on Marble Base. Brass and black painted metal case in the form of a early automobile, has rubber tires marked "Dunlop"; the driver’s side of the cab has a 2 in. porcelain clock dial and silvered engraved barometer dial, the reverse of the cab has a thermometer, all having beveled crystals, the cab has cloth curtains over glass panels over the windshield, drivers side and passengers side. Spring driven large watch type time only movement signed "Ch. Hour, France" with 13 jewels in running condition, separate spring driven mechanism contained within the case powers the drive shaft which animates the wheels. 8.75 in. high x 15.25 in. wide x 6 in. deep. Black marble base measure 1 in. high. Weight: 28 lbs. Detailed Condition: Animated mechanism is running but the long drive shaft connecting the wheel axles do not make contact and will need adjustment, movement shows solder repair and the case shows some repair over time, both fenders are original and have been reattached, the left rear leaf spring is broken at the front, tires are dry and cracking, shows inpainting to the black and glue around the bezels, brass roof rack has some bending, hidden front windshield is broken. A very rare and restorable animated timepiece!
