拍品描述: Far East, China, Song Dynasty, Longquan, ca. 960 to 1279 CE. A beautiful robin's egg blue celadon glazed stoneware bowl of a round form on a short foot, the inside incised with a singular circle and a faint flower or tear drop pattern, the exterior with double band of more defined tear drop or petal motifs, all covered with a lovely pale blue glaze, made during the Song Dynasty. Despite common perceptions, not all Chinese celadons are green. While classified as celadon, this bowl is quite blue in color. The decorative program, rather than being press molded, is hand decorated "drawn" or loosely incised underneath the glaze on both interior and exterior. The foot is flat and unglazed, and the rim shows areas that are glaze free as well. A breathtaking celadon bowl with elegant decoration dressed in a marvelous shade of blue! Size: 6.375" W x 2.375" H (16.2 cm x 6 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Paul and Louise Bernheimer, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA, acquired before 1980.
