Porcelain and enamel colors and gold. China, Qing Dynasty, 19th cent.
Very nice painted, differently sized covered jars of round form, above only lightly arched, each resp. on a stand ring. The design above is within a golden framing and offers respectively a horned qilin with scaly body on four legs and and heads, which rather remind of dragons or lions. The qilin, belonging to the "Four Wonder Animals", is a symbol of peace, placidity and child blessings. On each animal, two riders, the one in front is ornately clothed and has an honorary canopy, the one behind a boy or girl. The further ornament is floral. Very good condition. 琺瑯彩繪三小瓷碗帶蓋。中國,清代,19世紀。高3.7至4.4 厘米,直徑8.2至9.2厘米。
