Jade. China, Qing Dynasty, 19th cent.
A small three-dimensionally crafted long-tailed tiger with outstretched movement as if in flight with the mouth open. Appearing on both sides is a recessed engraved archaic decorative pattern with hook-shaped spirals. A white jade baiyu with overall light yellow-green tone, also in backlighting. A little eyelet. The tiger hu is a symbol of courage and strength, wards off evil spirits and is represented in the zodiac. 白玉虎形佩 清朝, 公元19世纪 长9.6 厘米
