Japan, LENGTH 3,9 AND 4 CM Each menuki in the form of an iris with lengthy foliage resembling sword blades, some leafs highlighted in gilt and decorated with a golden thread, silver blossoms. The iris was a popular motif on courtly armours and of warlords.
