拍品描述: Jade. China, 19th century (?) The surface of this impressive, very large disc is entirely carved with a neatly organized geometric decoration formed by a dense network of s-shaped patterns or curls joined together. These motifs are arranged in eight concentric bands: an innermost, ninth band is instead filled with a c-shaped pattern repeated along the border of the inner, central perforation. The whole decoration is thus made up of the same module repeated all over on both sides of the disc, filling up all available space. The stone is whitish in colour and contains many inclusions which create a dense, dark brown area in the centre of the disc and lighter ones near the border. Since there are no similar examples dating to the ancient periods of Chinese history to which the present disc can be compared, a 19th century date is suggested for this peculiar disc, which can be considered an archaistic piece. 玉璧- 公元19世紀 (?)?古玉全部都由意大利 Filippo Salviati 教授鑑定.
